Tour Information
An exclusive concert for Wellington Jazz Festival at The Undercurrent.

Led by Auckland saxophonist, Iggy Nama Ruci, the Iggy Nama Ruci quartet features a powerful interplay of musical conversation through the medium of straight-ahead jazz.

After recently touring around India and South Africa, surrounded by a plethora of Gospel jazz musicians, Iggy brings a fresh perspective and an open playfulness to the bandstand.

Michael Nash, fine-tuned Auckland pianist, draws inspiration from the likes of Brad Meldhau and Keith Jarrett, providing versatile and expressive approach to improvisation.

On double bass, Tyler Diprose acts as a grounding force, laying down a foundation, while providing rich musical intuition and connection in conversation with the band.

Max Crook brings a fiery finesse controlled by creativity and elegance to the drums. His attention to listening and reacting to the band demands constant interactive conversation.

The group will play a range of tunes from original compositions to standards by Thelonius Monk and Lennie Tristano.
