The first single from Fables' debut album, Change Is a Slow-Moving Beast, ‘Sundown’ resides in the liminal zone between clarity and disorientation. Inspired by the metaphor of day turning into night, the song’s ambient country shape braids dreamy guitar figures and a sturdy rhythm section with oblique lyrics and melodies that stretch out beyond the horizon. Accompanied by a music video where domestic bliss unravels into psychedelia.
