Mokomokai is one of Aotearoa’s most enigmatic underground hip hop acts to
come out in recent years.
Known for their unique blend of sounds drawing from 70s soul, gritty drum loops,
and confident often playful lyricism. They are recognized for their raw, deliberate
and authentic sound, which has been described as both a masterclass in local
hip-hop and a bold statement: raw, refined, and wholly original.
