Post Office w/ Akoba and DJ Dante
After a short break, gothic folk alt rockers Post Office are back with some new tunes to showcase.
Joining them is folk, indie pop artist AKOBA and closing out the night is sonic electronic artist DJ Dante.
Saturday 21st February
8pm
Pearl Diver - 73 Saint Andrew Street, Central Dunedin
Post Office - Shifting from a hush to a howl, Post Office cultivate a brooding mix of folk and alternative rock 'n' roll that sounds equally bruised and beautiful.
AKOBA - He’s never really been good at fitting in so if you had to put him in some category, imagine a squiggly line around folky (that traditional folks would probably hate) indie pop drawing inspiration from the pits. Lately he’s been listening to Ryuichi Sakamoto, Adrianne Lenker, Beirut, Geese, and Howling Wolf to name some peeps.

DJ Dante - Dante is a sonic painter who explores the intersection of electronic texture and deep, atmospheric rhythm. Moving away from the traditional dancefloor, Dante’s current work is a study in tension and release—blending the skeletal pulse of techno with vast, ambient landscapes.
Influenced by his background in fine arts, his soundscapes act as a digital companion to the raw storytelling of blues and folk. It is “head-music” for the heart; a cinematic journey through shadow and light that invites the listener to stay a while in the quiet spaces between the beats.
