Hoop. Live At Stone Oven, Devonport
Tāmaki Makaurau indie-folk group hoop. return to Devonport this May for a special Stone Oven show, part of the monthly First Thursday celebrations.
Following their 2025 album Wrap Me Up in Winter, the band bring their signature blend of emotive song writing, rich strings, and genre-spanning folk influences to an intimate live setting.
At the heart of hoop. is the song writing partnership of Nick Edgar and Al Baxter. Together with Emily Allen’s soaring string arrangements and the grounded, intuitive rhythm section of Rusty Knox (drums/percussion) and Glenn Coldham (bass), the band weave a textured soundscape of voices, guitars, flute, banjo, mandolin, and harmonica. Drawing on influences from Celtic traditions to Americana, their music feels both timeless and deeply personal.
Make a night of it with First Thursday’s mix of workshops, performances, and more across the village.
