Milly Tabak With Dave Khan, Charles James Walker And Hoop.
Ministry of Folk is thrilled to present a magical May evening, in a beautiful old hall, featuring Charles James Walker, Milly Tabak with Dave Khan, and our very own house band, hoop.
Bring your favourite drinks, grab a table, and settle in for another unforgettable night of music.
Charles James Walker is an independent Irish folk‑rock musician and singer‑songwriter from Longford, Ireland, celebrated for his raw, autobiographical songwriting and expressive vocals. Having toured extensively across Europe, he brings a depth and honesty to the stage that we’re delighted to welcome to MOF.
Milly Tabak, an award‑winning Auckland singer‑songwriter, is known for her soulful voice and heartfelt Americana storytelling. Best recognised as the frontwoman of The Miltones, she’ll treat us to an intimate, emotionally rich set that reveals the craft and vulnerability behind her songs. A warm and magnetic performer, Milly draws listeners in from the first note. She’ll be joined by musical maestro Dave Khan (Marlon Williams, Reb Fountain,Tami Neilson), whose musicianship elevates every collaboration.
Opening the night, hoop. will showcase a fresh batch of folk‑pop originals, weaving together banjo, mandolin, bouzouki, fiddle, and tight harmonies to set the tone beautifully.
We can’t wait to share this special evening with you.
