For this one, we're bringing someone truly special down from Tāmaki Makaurau.

Christopher Martin James - the man behind the moniker Christoph El Truento - has spent over a decade crafting one of the most interesting and diverse discographies of any musician from Aotearoa. DJ, beatmaker, producer, collaborator. He's moved across hip-hop, jazz, dub and experimental music - and when he steps behind the decks, all of that feeds in.

Fellow DJs describe him as someone who can nail so many genres without being an imitator or sounding contrived. That's a rare thing. You can feel the difference.

He starts chill, lets the room breathe, lets the conversations happen - and then, once the dancefloor takes shape, anything goes. That's exactly the kind of night we built this room for.

Joining him are three of Pōneke's finest - Mikki D, Maximillian and Kong Kasi - warming things up right.
