RIO FUNK

RIO FUNK IS ON! We’re taking over the original AFROBAILE date with RIO FUNK.

Born in Auckland in 2013, RIO FUNK is a Brazilian baile funk party and cultural platform created to bring the sounds, energy and spirit of Brazil to Aotearoa. For over a decade, RIO FUNK has been creating spaces for people to come together, dance and experience Brazilian music and culture through the lens of Auckland nightlife. At the heart of RIO FUNK is baile funk, the raw, bass heavy sound born from the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, alongside the wider sounds of Brazil and the music that moves its dancefloors. From intimate club nights to large scale events, RIO FUNK has grown into a community built around music, movement, culture and shared dancefloors.

On Saturday 10 October, we return to Reign & Pour for another night of Brazilian sounds, big energy and the RIO FUNK experience.
