If you’ve ever wondered what it would sound like if a late-night jazz club, a vintage record collection, and a spaceship all collided… this is your night.
For the 8th Private Gig of the 2026 Jazz Season, we’re welcoming Joe Kaptein Band to Āto.
Joe’s music lives somewhere beautifully between psychedelic jazz, vintage soul, cinematic lounge grooves, and deep improvisation. Expect lush Fender Rhodes, swirling synths, hypnotic rhythms, and original music drawn from his three studio albums.
Along the way, you’ll hear familiar favourites by Burt Bacharach, The Beatles, The Spinners and more, stretched, twisted and reimagined into dreamy, groove-filled journeys that are unmistakably Joe Kaptein.
This isn’t a night of playing the hits.
It’s a night of disappearing into the music.
