Tour Information
As part of Wellington Jazz Festival, The Undercurrent presents Song For Iqbal, Song For Pat - Miro Holland Group!

After a stellar year, an album release and Aus/Aotearoa tour, Miro Holland Group returns to the Festival with special guests. The band grew up learning to play together, and have continued. Miro's compositional theory is an attempt at highlighting that history.

'Song For Iqbal, Song for Pat' is a dedication to both the philosopher Muhammad Iqbal -a major creative and moral influence for Miro- and to Miro's Great Aunt Pat, whose life was lived entirely in the service of others. Both figures are moral influences for Miro, though at different points in his development.

Tonight, the group will feature two very special guests:

Lucas Kewell, an internationally acclaimed pianist fresh from completing studies at the renowned JAZZCAMPUS in Basel, Switzerland.
Patrick Bleakley, who has appeared on many internationally acclaimed albums, and had a legendary stint in the infamous Aotearoa group BLERTA.

Also featuring:
Ateo Buhne - Drums
Iggy Nama Ruci - Saxophone
Miro Holland - Trumpet & Composition
Theo Thompson - Guitar

Come and hear the new music from Pōneke.
