John Rae’s BOP-IT! returns to the festival after last year's sell-out concert that had the crowd going wild.

Featuring a stellar lineup of Aotearoa’s finest jazz musicians, John Rae’s BOP-IT! delivers a high-energy celebration of the hard bop era. Rooted in the rich traditions of 1950s and 60s jazz, BOP-IT! brings new life to classic repertoire while exploring the bold, boundary-pushing spirit of post-bop.

With virtuosic solos, driving rhythms, and deep grooves, this will be one of the most exhilarating performances of the festival. Hard bop has always challenged both audiences and musicians alike—and BOP-IT! takes it to the next level.
