Bringing you the second mystery instalment of our gig series at Blue.
A few weeks ago, the beautiful boys that make up Awning graced our Blue with their singsong. Christian (our very own coffee making king) and his bandmates transformed our little cafe and transfixed their audience. We all cried. Exhaustion + love = tears.
We were stoked and surprised to have sold out despite you all having no clue who was on the bill. Big aroha to our community for showing up in this way, for us and for Blue. This is your official invitation to the second instalment, we suspect it will be just as divine.
Join us for another secret performance, 30th of August at 6:30pm. We’ll be open before and after the show for kai and inu.

The landscape of Tāmaki Makaurau’s music scene is shifting. It feels like this city has been losing some of the little rooms that made it what it is. We wanted to make space for the kind of gig we love the most. Close enough to catch every breath between songs, in a café after hours, with a room full of people who actually came to listen. A bit of a throwback to the DIY spirit of the ‘90s (or at least what resident Blue boomers tell us it was like).
We adore our local musicians. We are lucky to count three of them amongst our team, so this is close to home. We feel lucky to return the love in some small way, build community and space for artists.
If Blue can be one more place keeping live music, artists and community alive in Tāmaki Makaurau, then that’s exactly where we want to be.
