Jess Cornelius (Teeth & Tongue) Announces Wellington Show
Last year, New-Zealand-born musician Jess Cornelius launched her eponymous solo career with her debut EP, Nothing Is Lost (2017). Recorded in single takes on Christmas day, the ‘Nothing Is Lost’ EP is a marked departure from Cornelius’s previous albums, and uses only electric guitar, voice, bass and floor tom to create sublime, minimalist garage-folk.
This week, Jess announces a rare Wellington show at Bicycle Junction on Friday November the 2nd as part of her November New Zealand/Australian tour. On the night, she will be joined by a duo performance from local dream-folk act French For Rabbits.
Friday Nov 2nd, Bicycle Junction, Wellington, with French For Rabbits. Doors open 7.30pm. Presale tickets available from www.undertheradar.co.nz. More on the door.
‘Jealousy,’ the first single from Nothing Is Lost premiered on NYLON, and the second single, ‘Love and Low Self Esteem was named one of Australia’s best releases of 2017 by RRRs
Simon Winkler in Tone Deaf magazine. Jess has released three critically-acclaimed albums under former moniker Teeth & Tongue, including 2016’s Give Up On Your Health, which came out via Remote Control in Australia and Dot Dash / Captured Tracks in North America.
Now based in LA, Jess has supported Courtney Barnett, Vance Joy, J.Mascis, Laura Marling and Paul Kelly on tours across the US and Australia, and has performed at Meredith Music Festival, Laneway Festival, Falls Festival, SXSW, CMJ, MONA and Perth International Arts Festival. She was nominated for a J-Award in 2016, and five The Age Victorian Music
Awards across 2014-16.
