Old Hall Gig 19 - Motte

Old Hall Gigs is a roving series of gigs presented in unfamiliar Wellington spaces/ sites.

This Old Hall Gig is at the Wellington Chinese Sports and Cultural Centre in Berhampore, and features Motte, Java Dance, Michael Norris and essa may ranapiri.

Motte is the project of Anita Clark, who makes beautiful music with ambient, hazy vocals and layers of violin.

Java Dance Theatre presents dance theatre works in NZ and abroad. For this gig they'll be presenting an excerpt from their upcoming show Chocolate.

Award-winning composer Michael Norris will present Peter Ablinger's Weiss / Weisslich 31e for water and glass tubes - a concert installation involving dripping sponges.

essa may ranapiri (Ngāti Raukawa | takatāpui they/them/theirs), a poet from Kirikiriroa, Aotearoa will read a collection of their poems.

Gig starts at 8pm sharp - bring a cushion if you like as you'll be seated on the floor.
