THE FICTION ROOM is a weekly, genre-less, gig series hosted at Pegasus Books. For each Saturday of PORTALFEST we’ve curated the evening’s programme to start here at The Fiction Room.

On the 02 Feb Antonia Barnett-McIntosh presents: TRAVELLING, TRAVELLING, an hour- long set of new experimental material tailored for the bookstore. Antonia’s inventive text scores alternate between dialogue and instruction, creating fascinating and beautiful deconstructions of everyday speech and human behaviour.

Ticket booking is way of making an electronic Koha for the event. Tickets are not mandatory, but all proceeds go to the artists involved. A cash koha can also be given on the night.

ANTONIA BARNETT-MCINTOSH studied com- position in Wellington and has now returned home, after 12 years working extensively overseas in all kinds of settings, as 2018-19 Creative New Zealand/Jack C. Richards Composer-in-Residence at Te Koki New Zealand School of Music. She is a composer, performer, sound artist and sometime curator with an interest in working across disciplines, and has collaborated with musicians, theatre and filmmakers, dancers, visual artists and poets.
