Tour Information
The Ihumatao Reclamation Festival will have you rocking out in the stone fields in a unique volcanic landscape with Upper Hutt Posse, Unity Pacific, Kiko plus more!

We will be supporting Pania Newton and the SOUL campaign to save our unique landscape! We are asking the government to buy back confiscated land which has be rezoned for development by Fletchers.

This land was part of a historic reserve and is arguably the most significant Maori site in New Zealand as it is was first landing place of Hape who preceded the Tainui waka.

The volcanic gardens and sacred landscape is where Hape first arrived despite being tricked by his brothers who did not think he would make the journey because he was disabled.

He arrived on the back of a giant stingray called kaiwhare, sent by Hinemoana in response to his prayer for help. Karangahape road is called named after Hape who called out to the Tainui waka from this area.

We will be offering this amazing lineup for a koha as it is such a great cause. This means you can pay what you can afford. If you can't afford anything, come along anyway and offer your support. If you can afford it please donate as we are campaigning to raise $50,000 to support the campaign.

We are asking the government to buy back this land as it is a significant historical and archaeological site and should be preserved for future generations.
