Dischord vinyl back catalog to be re-released

Following on from all the recent reports of the CD sale decline long standing punk label Dischord will be opening up it's vinyl vaults and re-issuing their back catalog.


According to TinyMixTapes Dischord will be:
We will begin by re-pressing current titles, and later re-issuing others, all re-cut at Chicago Mastering Service and featuring complimentary MP3 album downloads. This move will coincide with a small but long overdue price increase from $10 to $11 (on Dischord vinyl only) that will begin with newly pressed titles and extend to all titles in January 2009.

Pop Matters reports  that Capitol/EMI is on a campaign to re-issue some of the most popular releases from their vast catalogue in 180-gram audiophile quality with the original LP artwork and packaging in limited edition form.
