BAG RAIDERS

Although they're only just beginning to shine in the spotlight, Sydney dancefloor Princes Chris and Jack, the twin hearts of Bag Raiders, have already built up a hype storm. Here's why.

Exhibit A. The Bag Raiders EP. The lead single "Fun Punch" got resolutely flogged by all those in the know. From bloggers, to DJs, to radio folk, to teenage bedroom producers, nothing could announce the arrival of Bag Raiders as fittingly as this. As a whole, the EP is something of an exercise in the Raiders' Jaime Madrox-esque versatility but still retains the giddy "hands in the air" synthesizer heroics that's brought them so many followers. And it also landed the duo on to numerous compilations and Best of 2007 lists.

Exhibit B. The Remixes. Bag Raiders have done a whole bunch of these. Check their remix for Sneaky Sound System's breakthrough single I Love It; Bag Raiders sprinkled some sparkling dancefloor magic all over that track to create a fevered disco masterpiece. When noise-makers Lost Valentinos came knocking for the remix treatment, Bag Raiders stepped up and delivered something which was a bit dance and a bit rock, but of course all banger. They completely flipped things around for a remix of Midnight Juggernauts' Twenty Thousand Leagues, turning the stomping original into a delicious slice of bubbly filtered-pop. They've also dipped their remixing fingers into tracks from K.I.M. (which disco maestro François K featured in Grand Theft Auto IV), Kid Sister, Headman and Muscles, to name a few.

Exhibit C. What else? They've already proved themselves as consummate mixtape pros with their mixing of FBi's first "It's The Beat" compilation and have garnered a rep for notoriously balling DJ sets alongside the likes of GUNS 'N BOMBS, Boys Noize, DJ Mehdi and MSTRKRFT. They've also toured the country with A-Trak, Kid Sister, Sinden, Surkin and Radioclit as part of the Good Vibrations festival. And had tracks and remixes featured on all the big compilations from Ministry of Sound, Kitsune, Modular, FBi and more.

Most recently, the Raiders have been splitting time in the studio between their new material for Bang Gang and Fool's Gold and working on a slew of new remixes for the likes of teenagersintokyo, ZZZ and Melbourne synth-pop kings Cut Copy - all of which are sure to show off the pair's effortless range.

Fly kids from the Bang Gang to Kitsune and A-Trak (Fool's Gold) have swooned for their records. Bill Murray said it was the best shit he's ever heard. Yeah I know. Only into their second year as an outfit and they've already been making such impressive moves. It can only get better. So check them out on their quest to infinity and beyond...
