NZ's Pip Brown AKA Ladyhawke has been nominated for Best Solo Artist in this years NME Awards. She goes up against bad boy Pete Doherty, Jay Z, Lightspeed Champion and Laura Marling. This is a pretty big deal - congratulations Pip!
Vote for Ladyhawke here.
The winners will be announced during the Shockwaves NME Awards 2009 ceremony, which takes place at London's Brixton Academy on February 25.
Here are the rest of the nominations - some really boring calls (ie best website = biggest ones in the world = obvious); some lame attempts at humour (ie numerous Oasis nominations = I hope they're trying to be funny) and all the worst stuff (let's not promote these folks anymore).
But you be the judge.
