God Bows to Math - Nationwide tour

God Bows to Math - Nationwide tour

Thursday 28th May, 2009 12:00PM

Undertheradar totally recommends you check this group out as they come through your town.

God Bows To Math are about to embark on their first nationwide tour since the release of their debut EP Depravity, through MUZAI Records, playing sporadically and most likely intoxicated in both the North and South Island in the space of just over a week. During this period, the group will also be releasing their split EP with Dunedin group TFF, with a limited number of copies on sale during the tour.

The Depravity EP captures the chaotic live energy of the group, and having sold a copy at one of their live shows is set to be released on iTunes New Zealand. Reviews have been positive – including New Zealand’s foremost popular MP3 blog Einstein Music Journal stating that “the EP [has] some definite hardcore rebellion, tongue-in-cheek none the less.”

Joining them for the tour are label-mates and experimental/noise merchants BMX Rapists for their first series of shows since April. With a different line up, the Rapists are currently about to record a new series of tracks for both their forthcoming EP and a split with US group A/S/L – to be released on hand painted cassette. Because they can’t afford CD-Rs.

Support from each location also comes from some bands– including TFF, Yeti Smasher, The Postures and Sora Shima with other guests to be confirmed. We mean that also – it’s not just a line used to entice you. An example of a line used to entice you would be: “please come to our show; we’re that band who got played on the Nightline weather map.”

God Bows To Math’s nationwide tour takes place from the Wednesday 26th June to Saturday 4th July.

June 26th – Chicks Hotel, Port Chalmers (support from TFF)
June 27th – Glory Hole, Christchurch (support from Yeti Smasher)
June 29th – Happy, Wellington
July 1st – San Francisco Bath House (support from The Postures)
July 2nd – The Mutton Club, Whanganui
July 3rd – FLOW Bar, Hamilton (with Sora Shima)
July 4th – Rising Sun, Auckland [MUZAI Club Night]
