Fucked Up - Do They Know Its Christmas Benefit Single Available Now

Thursday 10th December, 2009 12:00PM

A month or so ago Canadian art-punk band Fucked Up announced that they were going to use some of the money they received for winning the Polaris Music Prize (a Canadian award for artistic merit) to create their own super group and cover Bob Geldof/Midge Ure's 80s xmas pop hit  "Do They Know It's Christmas?".

The single is available now via itunes and ain't bad - it features vocals from Yo La Tengo, GZA, Ezra Koenig (Vampire Weekend), Bob Mould (Husker Du), Tegan & Sara, Andrew W.K., Kyp Malone (TV on the Radio), David Cross (comedian) and Kevin Drew (Broken Social Scene).  All proceeds go to three Canadian charities who work towards improving the welfare of aboriginal women.  Click here for more info.
