Ministry-Auckland-October-6th

Friday 25th August, 2006 12:55PM
There’s gigs, there’s good gigs, and there’s MINISTRY.

Solid Entertainment, the Groove Guide, C4 and 95bfm bring you a different class live experience. Mind-blowing life-changing apocalyptic kind of different. It’s Ministry. You know it.

When Ministry headlined the Big Day Out in 1996 it went down in history by those who know and those you can trust as the single best main stage performance in BDO’s history. Their warm up show at The Powerstation was rated by seasoned gig veterans and critics as one of the greatest shows ever. Full stop.

Annnd…it gets better…..Ministry, a band who always deliver live are heading to New Zealand with their greatest line-up ever. Heavyweight doesn’t even get close.

Al Jorgensen has mobilized the band’s greatest incarnation (or in Kerrang’s words “so badass it’s almost scary”) - Tommy Victor (Prong/Danzig founder), Mike Scaccia (Rigor Mortis), Paul Raven (Killing Joke/Prong founder), John Bechdel (Fear Factory founder) and Joey Jordison (Slipknot founder) - and declared war on the rampant greed and stupidity that has pushed the world to the brink of Armageddon.

It takes a Bush presidency to bring out the best in Ministry.

Last time around it was the Bush Senior’s term which fuelled the aggression that triggered the landmark album Psalm 69; and the tour which saw Ministry headline the Big Day Outs and play shows which surpassed what most would describe as a religious experience.

It is little wonder then that Bush Junior’s presidency sees Ministry previous reaction look mild in comparison. The brand new album, Rio Grande Blood sees the band’s return to the best form of its career with a line up that’s surpassing the live legacy of even the mighty mighty Ministry.

“The best show of the year, bar none” (Kerrang, June 17th 2006)

And who better to provide the soundtrack to the end of the world than Ministry!
