2010 Grammy Nominations

2010 Grammy Nominations

Friday 3rd December, 2010 1:31PM

Nominations for Americas biggest music awards, The Grammys, have been announced with a few nice surprises including Arcade Fire picking up three nominations the biggest of which being Album of the Year for The Suburbs. The Black Keys (soon to be heading our way) have picked up five nominations - Best Alternative Music Album, Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals, Best Rock Instrumental Performance, Best Recording Package and Best Rock Song.

Some other interesting nominations:

Broken Bells, Vampire Weekend and Band of Horse all up for Best Alternative Music Album along with The Arcade Fire.
Florence and The Machine nominated for Best New Artist.
Hard rock doesn't seem to have progressed much with all the nominees for Best Hard Rock Perfomance being old hats in the scene: Alice in Chains, Ozzy Osbourne, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots and Them Crooked Vultures.
Cee Lo Green has picked up a few nominations which will no doubt lead to some corny intro gags around the infamous "Fuck You" track nominated for best song.
