Press Release:

Jim Beam Homegrown is at the forefront of music culture; with a record of 4 consecutive sell out’s drawing thousands of people from around New Zealand. The festival returns to the Wellington Waterfront on Feb 18th with an imposing line up and a reputation for ground breaking live performances.

Ever evolving, Homegrown 2012 will be mixing it up - literally - at the new Red Bull Lab. Kiwi musicians are famous for collaborating with their mates so the challenge has been issued to our nation’s music fraternity to come, jam and make some magic. Hosted by Nick D, The Red Bull Lab will showcase the ultimate collective of super bands and DJ battles; already announced are The Adults, AHoriBuzz with guests Tiki Taane, Fran Kora and LA Mitchell with more guests to be confirmed; and a DJ sound-clash featuring Concord Dawn vs. P Money.

For the first time, the Jim Beam Rock Stage proudly combines the two biggest names in Kiwi Rock: Shihad and Blacklist (featuring 4 of the 5 original members of Blindspott). Also confirmed are Black River Drive, The Thomas Oliver Band and Shotgun Alley with 3 major acts still to be announced.

The Vodafone Pop and RnB stage showcases the popularity of our Hip Hop cultural movement. With chart topping names like Smashproof, David Dallas, K One, P Money, Kidz in Space and crowd favourites Kids of 88 with 3 sensational acts still to be named.

The electronic stage offers a hedonistic super-club environment with top DJ/Producers Optimus Gryme, FM’s Karn Hall and Jay Bulletproof with Jesse G the voice of his smash-hit ‘Dub Me Crazy’.

The monster Dub & Roots stage welcomes back Six60 hot off the heels of their No1 single and new album. Rising reggae stars 1814 will kick start the day and The Black Seeds and Kora return this year to wow with their amazing live prowess. That leaves 3 huge acts still to be named to cap off a who’s who of Aotearoa’s dub & roots talent.

The second and final announcement will be made on October 31st adding another 18 massive bands and DJ’s to the line-up.

Every Homegrown festival has sold out, don’t miss out, go to www.homegrown.net.nz to register for the $75 Early bird presales on September 19th before the general public get their chance from September 26th.
