At The Drive In Announce Reunion

Tuesday 10th January, 2012 12:14PM

At The Drive In have caused a frenzy of excitement today announcing an unlikely reunion.  The band posted the following via their new twitter account....

ATTENTION! To whom it may concern: AT THE DRIVE-IN will be breaking their 11 year silence THIS STATION IS …NOW…OPERATIONAL.

Referencing their 2005 compilation album  This Station is Non-Operational - they also launched a new site http://atdimusic.com.

The Texan's broke up at the height of their popularity back in 2001 due to well publicised tensions amongst band members who went on to form separate bands after the split - Sparta and The Mars Volta amongst others.  Not much more is known at this point as to what the reunion entails but touring is a definitely on the cards as they having been announced to play Coachella.

Here's their biggest single 'One Armed Scissor' off their break through album Relationship of Command performed live on Letterman back in 2000...

Here's a great track from Sparta which featured drummer Tony Hajjar and bassist Paul Hinojos....

And here's a video from The Mars Volta, vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala and guitarist Omar Rodríguez-López (who also released a solo album), for 'Televators'....
