Carcass, one of the most storied and influential bands in the history of metal, have reformed in 2008 following what was thought to be a permanent disbanding in 1996. Having announced a series of festival dates throughout Europe, North America and Japan upon their reformation; their Australian and New Zealand tour dates in October 2008 will be the ONLY chance that their widespread global fan base will get to see this legendary band in a club environment.

With a discography harking back to 1987 - including the seminal Symphonies of Sickness (1989) and Heartwork (1993) – Carcass, along with Napalm Death, pioneered the metal subgenre of 'grindcore', with frantic, chaotic blasts underlying guttural vocals and rumbling low-end riffs. In later releases, the band explored more varied metal territory; with elements of thrash and melody serving to embellish their signature sound.

Now, more than a decade on from their last studio release, the dormant Carcass have been re-animated to serve up 20 years worth of classics spanning their entire career. This will be the only opportunity New Zealand fans will have to see the grind legends reeking in the flesh. Be sure to secure your ticket to the most important metal show in New Zealand this year!
