Who are the Japanese Motors?

Kind of a kicked back rock band who put swagger ahead of song, not that it doesn't work for them.

The self titled album starts out light with simple 2 chord progressions topped with hand claps, breakdowns, references to “chicks” and there's bound to be some hot rod references staggered throughout.

It instanty comes across like a streetcar version Velvet Underground and a less camp Vampire Weekend + perhaps to a lesser extent the Strokes.

There's nothing flashy about this recording, but I guess that is the intention. An album to sit back to, potter around to and just nod along.

Album favourite: Pseudo Elitist Vagueness
