It’s an up-tempo rock sound that Australia lately doesn’t quite get right. It' has overtones of The Police, with a mix of current dance/rock British bands.
And this could be slightly to do with the fact that they used producer Ben Hiller (Blur, Depeche Mode, Doves.)
Sydney never sounded so good.
