It's not you, it's Galesburg. Honest. It's been real crazy, a total ride, a blast- but you know, things change, and four years is a long time to be promoting in this city.
That's not to say there haven't been good times a plenty - hell, looking back it's been amazing times all round. We heard so much music together, the best from all over the world. We've shared a more than a few drinks, stayed up late on many a work night partying at those amazing shows, woke up the next morning sore in the head but still buzzing.
Remember that time at Deerhunter' Or HEALTH' Or how we did Casiotone and Okkervil River twice' There's so many memories. We both know it, we had something special.
But the time has come to truly call it a night. Now, now, don't cry. It's for the best, okay' Summer was a tough one, albeit a fun one. The cost of putting on shows has taken its toll, and left us in a tricky position.
Not to get out the old violin (or the cello, like Paul de Jong from the Books did so masterfully!) but we're doing it once more for old times sake, to help clear the decks and get Galesburg back to Square One. If we can do it, heck, we might even put on a show or two later this year!
Come say goodbye with us, and help us party ourselves to death.
