Kicking off your long weekend with the best live acts Auckland has to offer. This night is not to be missed!
DECORTICA
Decortica is an alternative rock / progressive rock act from New Zealand. With two releases to date and an energetic, polished live show, the band is gaining a reputation as an edgy, modern rock outfit. A three-piece employing a range of dynamics and effects, the result is a huge, full sound with frequent deviations into new textures and moods (Groove Guide). The precisely crafted balance of heavy riffs, ambience, thundering percussion, layers of harmony and soaring vocals captured on tracks like The Grid (from the debut A New Aesthetic) and Shinkansen (from the follow-up Love Hotel) is faithfully transposed in the live arena.

FICTIONAL RESPONSE
Fictional Response blur the lines between Heavy Rock and Electronica, taking catchy guitar riffs and mixing them with synthesizers and a combination of electronic and live drums. The music draws from diverse inspirations. With a vocal style influenced by Linkin Park and guitar riffs that stand up to those of Deftones and Korn. FR's trademark is loud, explosive bursts of noise combined with softer, more ambient textures. A dynamic and innovative blend of different genres.
Fictional Response is:
Richie Bennett, Tim Gainsford, Daniel Malyon, Shaun Malyon
