New Zealand's 2009 hardcore calendar opens in style with a jam-packed international headliner-laden package show to get the pit cranking like no show before it!
Grammy-nominated metalcore heroes Underoath make their welcome return to New Zealand, having stolen the show at 2006's Taste of Chaos festival. With their latest frantic offering of bruising metalcore, 2008's 'Lost In The Sound of Separation', having entered the US Billboard Hot 200 at #8, Underoath's headliner spot on this massive night is well-deserved indeed and are a band bound to leave a pit full of kids battered and bruised by their house-levelling intensity.
An emerging superpower in the hardcore/metal phenomenon, Every Time I Die make their first appearance in New Zealand at this mammoth event; bringing with them their signature smashmouth riffery and relentless stage performance. Having shared stages with everyone from Killswitch Engage to Atreyu to Parkway Drive, this New York quintet is poised for domination of the hardcore globe.
Rounding off this unstoppable juggernaut of a line-up is Florida post-hardcore legends Poison The Well. Having last hit New Zealand shores with an unforgettable performance at 2005's Big Day Out festival, this legendary 5-piece bring over a decade of touring experience to the party, not to mention a discography of classic hardcore including 1998's landmark 'The Opposite of December' and their latest masterpiece 'Versions'.
