The Ministry of Folk puts on intimate live performances in a beautiful old hall halfway down Dominion Road. The venue has cabaret-style seating and you can BYO drinks and snacks.
The Ministry of Folk is excited to welcome Eden Iris and special guest Kim Halliday. Eden Iris a New Zealand artist who combines infectious pop melodies with the grit of Americana to create unique and compelling storytelling experiences. Eden has been based in the USA and supported a raft of international acts including Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Gin Wigmore, Nik Kershaw, Tami Neilson and Troy Kingi. Eden was awarded the Folk/Acoustic Act of the year by UK radio-station Radio Wigwam in 2020. Eden will have composer and guitarist Kim Halliday on guitar as a special guest.
Equally exciting will be the chance to hear Chris Dent and Hannah Morrell. Chris Dent is the lead singer for Auckland fan-favourites Albi and the Wolves. Hannah is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who moved to Aotearoa from Australia.... and Chris and Hannah have been making sweet music for a couple of years now. Not to be missed.
As usual, your hosts Hoop will start things off with new songs and selections from their extensive poppy folk back-catalogue.
It's going to be an awesome evening.
Doors at 7.00pm and performances will start at around 7.30pm.
