Two facts:
1. The Cure are a blinkin’ fantastic band.
2. New Zealand has one of the highest Breast Cancer incidence rates in the world.
And so, to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a selection of Auckland musicians and bands will go head to head in friendly competition - playing their own takes on their favourite Cure songs (and a couple of originals for good measure)!
Who will be the winner?! Will it be Tourettes, thoughtful rapper & K Rd’s Poet Laureate? Electro-Pop darlings Charlie Ash? Bfm chart-toppers Wildwood Lights? Lisa Crawley? The Monotonics? Paul McLaney?! These are just some of the aural delights to be found on the night, and YOU, dear punter, can cast a vote for your favourite Next-Top-Cure-Coverer each time you purchase a refreshment!
ALL of the door takings will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Trust, so come along and do your part to help them on their quest to find a Cure for Breast Cancer by 2018.
Dress up as your best-loved Cure song or Robert Smith persona and you too could be a winner, with heaps of exciting spot prizes!
Special thanks to Cheese On Toast, 95bFM, K Rd Business Association & Phantom Billstickers.
