Since their musical journey began in 2001, OPENSOULS have been busy winning over music lovers with their fresh, infectious energy. Infused with elements of soul and old-school R'n'B, the band’s unique sound is due to a collaborative effort from its seven talented members, each bringing their own personality, flair and musical taste to the mix. 2009 saw the release of 'Standing in the Rain' OPENSOULS’ terrifically accomplished sophomore album that well and truly solidified their standing as the top-shelf New Zealand soul band. Heralded for lighting up the stage with their irrepressible energy, they are crowd pleasers at music festivals and gigs on both sides of the Tasman. Bringing soul to the music scene, this powerful collective of talented musicians are setting the bar for world-class New Zealand music.

Although the Butter Cuts are a brand new force in Wellington, the individual members are by no means unfamiliar to New Zealand music. Featuring Christchurch bred now Welly based MC, JDubs (recently signed to Shapeshifter's own Truetone Records) along side Si-Res and Ed Zuccollo (Harbour City Electric) and Tom Scrase (The Thomas Oliver Band).
Expect buttery smooth vibrations enriched with soul. Live drums meet the MPC with layers of samples, synths, keys and guitars to make up the Butter Cuts sound.

Mara And The Bushkas will also be taking the stage to deliver their eclectic fusion of Folk, Rock, Soul, Pop.
Following the OPEN SOULS , two incredibly talented producers JULIEN DYNE and BENNY TONES will hit the wheels of steel to spin tunes from their highly acclaimed debut albums' 'Pins and Digits' and 'Chrysalis' respectively.
