Gig Information

Two of Auckland’s loudest bands hit the road for a double-barrelled blast of North Island shows this November. Sports and Proton Beast have been doing their thing for a while now, and after recently sharing a bill for the first time decided to team up again, this time taking their noise-nik tendencies on the road to Whanganui and Wellington.

The four members of Sports have played bands such as Dimmer, Meterman, Shocking Pinks and Body Corporate. Their feedback-drenched sounds have reached out through the airwaves of 95bFM and Radio One over the past year and rattled eardrums live, including a support slot for San Fran’s Wooden Shjips. These are their first shows outside Auckland.

It’s the second nationwide tour for Proton Beast who are armed with a new single from their forthcoming EP, Digitizer. With one guitar, two dudes and three amps their live show is not to be missed, having already shared the stage with DZ Deathrays (Aus), Boris (Jap), No Art (Aus), Bare Grillz(Aus) and God Bows To Math (NZ).
