This August Luke Thompson returns to the stage for a small run of the North Island main centers in New Zealand. After a successful sold out tour with Lydia Cole earlier this year Thompson will team up with North Shore based Mali Mali and Sydney folk singer Patrick James, for five shows in five days in a handful of humble venues in Mt Maunganui, Auckland, Hamilton, Napier & Wellington. Thompson who is currently working on new songs will be sharing some of these with the August audiences, as well as drawing from the recent album To the Common Dark (2012).
Having just released the debut album Gather 'round the Gooseclock, Mali Mali's front man Ben Tolich will take to the road solo for the first time. Thompson and Tolich both worked on their current records with producer Mark Myers in Cairns, Australia.
Joining the pair for his first time in New Zealand, is up and coming Sydney based folk singer Patrick James. James has recently toured his homeland with the likes of Tim Hart, The Paper Kites, Emma Louise and later this year, Josh Pyke. His new EP All About To Change was recently released through Create/Control in Australia and New Zealand.
Tickets are limited and door sales will be available where numbers allow.
