This is the 2nd feature night presented by the Nivara Entertainment Club. We are excited to announce that Vallkyrie are going to be our feature act!!! Hailing from South Auckland, it will be one of their first times playing in the Tron, so make sure to come along and see their exciting blend of Rock and Hip-hop for yourself. Vallkyrie will be performing from 9pm till around 10pm. As always we will have 15 minutes slots from 7pm til 9pm for anyone to book themselves in to perform, solo, duo's, bands and comedians all welcome. A bit about Vallkyrie:
Vallkyrie fuse together sounds that influence Rock, RnB and Hip Hop to create something bold and exciting to say the least. If Imagine Dragons, Rihanna and Enigma had a soul child, it would be Vallkyrie.
The band consists of Omer Gilroy (vocals, percussion), Rebel Reid (guitar, keys) and Brandon Haru (percussion, keys).
Vallkyrie hit the stage with a theatrical and explosive live set, which has already won them 3rd place (amongst 149 entries) for “Battle of the Bands”. Vallkyrie have opened for Safia (Australia) and played at festivals such as “George in the Park” and “Big Gay Out”. They also do a stripped back acoustic version of their set which is also very popular.
Norse mythology and gothic rock inspire their visual design and ideology. They often refer to this as “New Age Goth”, anthemic and powerful. Vallkyrie have embodied their inspiration, to create an immersive world. They are also proud Maori artists, hailing from south Auckland, drawing strength from their cultural heritage.
Vallkyrie have successfully written over 50 original songs and now in 2017 they are putting together a highly anticipated debut album.
