Weekly Round Up: Friday 21st August

Friday 21st August, 2015 4:23PM

This week brought with it some great tour news. Off the back of the much-heralded album Multi-Love, Unknown Mortal Orchestra announced a five-date tour on home turf with support from punk trio Las Tetas. A brand new festival called McLaren Valley Music & Art Festival was announced for the New Year and the line-up so far is hugely impressive, including the likes of The Flaming Lips, Kurt Vile, Disclosure, C.W. Stoneking and The Chills .The organisers of Rhythm and Vines revealed their first-line up, along with plans to make the annual event moving in a more well-rounded family friendly affair. And Glass Vaults announced a nationwide jaunt to support the release of their debut album Sojourn.

In release news, Christchurch outfit The Transistors officially released 'Confidence Man' as the lead single from their forthcoming EP Cuppa Jarra Brossa. Wellington's Sunken Seas premiered the killer tune 'Clear' as they prepare to release their second album Glass in late September. Coming out of Auckland, we had Wet Nurses Of Sodom unveil a somewhat uneasy listening seven-track album titled Epispasm. And from Dunedin, Opposite Sex emerged with the excellent eight-song record titled Hamlet. Looking further afield, we were intrigued to see a teaser trailer for the new Savages album featuring a reading from the one-and-only Henry Rollins.

This week's Caught Live is Foals (who are about to put out new album What Went Down) covering Marks Ronson's 'Daffodils' on Triple J....
