Laneway Festival 2016 Venue + Date Revealed

St Jerome's Laneway Festival has announced the venue and date for the 2016 event. Despite whispers of the annual festival moving to another major city, Laneway will remain in Auckland and continue on at its seaside home for the last four years - Silo Park - with the date set for Monday 1st February.

The news follows revelations last month that organisers had been seeking a new home for the festival due to development of the Wynyard Precinct. There had been hope that Laneway would take up residence at the Auckland Domain, but those hopes were dashed when the event failed to obtain approval to use the lush park.

Promotor Mark Kneebone says they have been working closely with council over the last few months to fine tune the location planning. “After some initial uncertainty about where we’d be for next year’s event, we are beyond happy that our old friends at Silo Park have pulled out the stops to make it possible for Laneway to return to the waterfront location for 2016,” he says.

The full festival line-up for Australia, New Zealand and Singapore will be announced at 11am on Tuesday 22 September 2015.
