Video: Die! Die! Die! - Listen To The Radio (UTR Premiere)

In what is proving to be a fruitful union, Die! Die! Die! have once again collaborated with artist and film-maker Dylan Pharazyn - this time to create a striking video for single '(I Love How You) Listen To To The Radio'. In a statement Pharazyn says he wanted to evoke the moment a relationship breaks, going on to say: "The song has a romantic quality to it, but there’s anger in there. That strange mix of emotions merged into the image of a man dreaming of someone lost, and lashing out at his own memories in anger at the past."

The track comes from Die! Die! Die!'s latest EP What Did You Expect, which was released last December through local label Banished From The Universe Records. Watch the video, and then read our interview with bandmember Andrew Wilson below...

Dylan has done a few videos for DDD, most recently ‘Dark Arrow’ and ‘Out Of Mind’. What is it about his style that appeals to you?

Dylan did our very first music video back in 2004 for 'Not Talking'. I feel his style has changed in parallel overtime at a very similar rate to our music. I really love his filming style it's so beautifully shot. I wish we had starting working together again sooner if I can be honest!

This video bears a certain juxtaposition between serenity and tension which fits with the tone of the song really well. Is that something you sought out to convey in particular?

Die! Die! Die! has always been about the contradictions and when Dylan and I were brainstorming ideas we really wanted to portray that.

The scene of the twins at the end where they are projecting pink fluid from their mouths is quite captivating. Do you know how that was captured?

You'll have to ask Dylan! haha.

What’s on the cards moving forward for Die Die Die??

We are going back to London in a couple of weeks to finish our new album with Rory on his boat and play a couple of shows in London and Paris, and then we are doing a 10-date tour of China and Taiwan ending at a festival in Shanghai. I am really excited to play again as we have been pretty quiet this year but it has been so nice to be inspired again. I cant wait for people to hear our new album.

We also are doing a split 7-inch with an amazing band called Birdstriking!
