Weird Al Yankovic Covers 'Beat On The Brat' By The Ramones
Californian parody music master "Weird Al" Yankovic has dropped a great cover of ‘Beat On The Brat’ by The Ramones. The original tune was lifted from the Ramones’ eponymous debut offering in 1976 while Weird Al’s version appears on Dr. Demento’s forthcoming compilation of novelty/punk rock covers Covered In Punk.
The rendition of the Ramones tune sees Weird Al team up with super group Osaka Popstar (who formerly counted Marky Ramone among their ranks) to perform the influential banger. Weird Al’s involvement with Covered In Punk is also something of an homage, being that Dr. Demento was an early supporter of Yankovic’s musical endeavours.
