Jakob Unveil Demo Version Of 'Some Summer'

Masters of atmospheric ambience, Napier post-rockers Jakob have made the most of Aotearoa's compulsory four week downtime to dig deep into the archives, revealing over the weekend an absolutely gorgeous demo recording of 'some summer', with more good stuff looking to be on the way. Over what was a productive weekend, Jakob bassist Maurice Beckett's long-running group Desbot released the equally transporting single 'In Waves', which we've also covered here. Drawn from sessions for Jakob's 2001 debut album Subsets of Sets, the demo version of 'some summer' showcases a fresh version of the instrumental in a shimmering formative state. The trio enthused via social media: "we still love how it sounds and wanted to share it with you all."
