As Aotearoa's live music community eases into some quiet times following a particularly turbulent week, the sun has literally come out to shine alongside a hopeful new single from seventeen year songwriter Ben Horlock (Ngati Porou / Te Awara). Embracing a sparkling pop palette of jangling guitars and crisp electronic percussion as a plush bed for Horlock's prodigious vocal talents, his third single for 2020 'The One You Love' is both an unabashed love song and an impassioned plea for peace in a world that can look madder by the day. Drawing significant audiences via recent Youtube live videos, the rising Dunedin-based artist is definitely one to watch, with a debut album recorded at Roundhead Studios and Parachute Studios reportedly on the way. "I wrote “The one you love”, about world peace, acceptance and fighting the bad energy in the world. I don’t like seeing on my socials all the stuff in the USA & the rest of the world at the moment... gun violence... racism... inequality. I wrote “the one you love” to spread positivity & hope to everyone affected by poverty and politics... it’s a love song with a message”
