Cookie Brooklyn & The Crumbs Unveil Single / Video 'Top Hat and Funny Face'

Off-kilter Pōneke three-piece Cookie Brooklyn & the Crumbs clearly know the value of a good A & P show, and introduce their new single 'Top Hat and Funny Face' alongside a wholesome visit to Masterton's Poultry Pavilion. Orchestra Of Spheres' Nell Thomas and Erika Grant have laid down some bloody magnetic beats and bass, drawing you in with playful sparsity. Mark Williams (MarineVille), on guitar and lead vocals, rattles out near-nonsense lyrics between the chorus of title-lyrics "Top hat, funny face", like a cruel mockery of the hens and roosters on display with their heinous, wrinkly combs and wattles.

The band have their own show on the books for February 13th at Moon in Wellington, where they're joining the incomparable Jay Clarkson And The Containers - a group dotted with Flying Nun alumni and New Zealand music OGs.
