A leading voice amongst a new generation of Aotearoa songwriters, Tāmaki Makaurau's Louisa Nicklin has garnered devoted fans for her haunting student radio hits ‘Water Around Her’ and ‘To Be Fine’, and live performances including a jam-packed crowd for her recent Mermgrown festival appearance. With her forthcoming self-titled debut album sure to be a local release highlight of 2021, Nicklin has announced an extensive launch tour, journeying throughout the nation in June and July, kicking off with a free in-store shore at Flying Out. Recorded with Steven Marr at Roundhead Studios over eighteen months and tackling the lockdown-relevant theme of "...peoples loneliness, my relationship to this, and my relationship to others", the new record features musical contributions from bandmates Eamon Edmundson-Wells (Pixels) and Mason Fairey (The Naenae Express, Green Grove), plus JY Lee (Avantdale Bowling Club, Yoko Zuna) and Antonia Barnett-McIntosh.
