花溪 Flowerstream Announce 'Flowers Dream' EP Release Show w/ Samara Alofa, TOOMS

Bringing to life the enchanting pentatonics of the ghuzheng (a Chinese plucked zither) with guitar, keys and bass too, 花溪 Flowerstream — the bouquet arrangement of Huiming Wu and Maxwell Brown — are about to release their debut Flowers Dream EP on 19th April. Their projects are often rooted in experimentation and improvisation, with Asian languages weaved into the mix (check out some performance videos HERE). For one night after their EP's release, the duo will be accompanied by a full band plus special guests TOOMS and Samara Alofa at Auckland’s The Wine Cellar. Their festival credits are growing, including FestivalOFA and a Camp A Low Hum renegade set, go catch 花溪 Flowerstream with friends on 20th April...

Come celebrate the release of 花溪 Flowerstream’s debut EP Flowers Dream!

Playfully pushing boundaries between normative genres, Flowerstream explore an eclectic range of sounds in the EP. The genre defying duo have been called dream-pop, psychedelia, jazz, punk, hip-hop, doom, trip-hop and noise music.

Although often performing as a duo, Flowerstream will be joined by some special guests for a rare full band performance.

With support from two of Tāmaki Makaurau’s legendary artists, the punk legend duo TOOMS and the earthpunk legend Samara Alofa, this gig is unmissable.
