Live Photos: Queens of the Stone Age, Auckland

After the devastation in Christchurch yesterday, QOTSA's first New Zealand headlining tour has sadly been cut short (for Wellington ticket holders, the show is now TONIGHT).

Aucklander's were lucky enough to catch them on Monday, where they saw a bunch of dudes totally dominate a back-catalogue (and many of those on stage did not write said tracks) with all the rock and roll swagger one imagines from such a band with a new lease on life. Having heard Josh Homme describe the re-release of the first QOTSA album as a new frontier for Queens, come Monday night this was exponentially confirmed with exceptional band dynamics that boiled down to them, and as a result, the crowd, having an awesome time.
