Continuing the Upswing quest for showcasing the nation’s world-class DJs, we’re excited to welcome a foundational architect of Aotearoa’s beat culture — Manuel Bundy. The selectors selector! Joining the lineup, we have the ever-soulful Sandy Mill and resident Dan Solar. The Upswing system will be in full effect, with vinyl sets and the mighty V10 mixer and Martin rig delivering pristine audio for your dancing pleasure. Expect another full house for this mid-summer celebration of music and life!

Manuel Bundy is widely regarded as Auckland's pre-eminent soul, funk, hip-hop DJ, and often hailed as the godfather of the scene. He remains one of the most in-demand DJs in the country and a foundational influence for some of New Zealand’s biggest artists, from Che Fu, Nathan Haines, Fat Freddy’s, Sola Rosa, and many in between. Also known as Manny Styles (Manuel Matisi), Manuel has been mixing and scratching behind the decks since 1987, cementing his reputation as one of the nation’s most enduring and influential DJs.
Sandy Mill is an Aotearoa-born vocalist, songwriter, producer, radio host, and DJ. Over her career, she has collaborated and performed with acclaimed New Zealand artists, including Neil Finn, Don McGlashan, Pitch Black, SJD, and more. Internationally, she has contributed to studio sessions with Basement Jaxx, Placebo, Boy George, Dimitri Tikovoi, and renowned producer Flood. As a solo artist, Sandy released her debut EP “A Piece of Me” in 2018, earning a nomination for Best Female Vocalist at the Waiata Māori Music Awards. As a DJ and selector, her sets span hip hop, funk, soul, disco, jazz, drum & bass, and deep house/tech, delivering eclectic performances that showcase her skill and musicality.
The Upswing starts at 7pm with Sandy Mill warming the floor for Manuel. Full set-times will be released soon.
