When it comes to the dancefloor, Te Whanganui-a-Tara based jazz-house band Groove Council means business. On their agenda is an uninterrupted dose of live jazz-house dance music guaranteed to keep feet moving and approval ratings rising all night long. When in session, they fuse DJ sensibilities with hypnotic soundscapes and jazz-informed improvisational flare to craft relentlessly groovy nonstop live sets.
Having swiftly won the mandate of Wellington’s voters through their joyous live meetings, the council have taken their agenda to the studio to craft their four-policy debut EP ‘In Session’ - releasing everywhere except Sp*tify on January 16th. Following the release, the councillors embark on a four-stop tour of Aotearoa to share their irresistibly danceable policies and spread groovemocracy to groove citizens across the motu, on the following dates:
On Saturday 14th February, the council hosts their debut Ōtepoti meeting, at the Pearl Diver boardrooms. Attendees can expect an agenda packed to the brim with groove, and the boogie of a lifetime. Dancing shoes are mandatory. Supports to be announced. Long live groovemocracy.
Kind Regards,
Groove Council
