Live at the Undercurrent, Top dogs... A new quartet... featuring radical interpretations of Wellington- Theo Thompson plays guitar, leader of the Mantle Septet. Fresh off of the release of his acclaimed debut string quartet/guitar trio album 'Windy' with three new compositions he will be playing tonight. Evie Patterson will be on bass- recently performing as featured artist with the Aotearoa Jazz Orchestra, also off a recent stint of performances with the NZYO- also bringing three compositions. Miro Holland will be on Trumpet- his art ensemble a regular of the undercurrent- he is looking forward to the release of two upcoming compositional albums, and is also bringing three tunes to the table. They are joined by the masterful award-winning John Rae- leader of the Aotearoa Jazz Orchestra - known for performance stints with the likes of Art Farmer, Sheila Jordan and Vijay Iyer. REAL NEW!
